Fujitsu to sell Japan-made AI chip globally from November

TOKYO - Fujitsu Ltd. said Monday that it will begin in November global sales of "Monaka," a Japan-made central processing unit for artificial intelligence processing, as it seeks to expand its presence in an AI market where overseas companies have taken the lead.

The telecommunications and computer maker also said it will sell domestically produced servers equipped with Monaka in Japan and Europe, while the United States and China intensify efforts to lock in related technologies as military use of AI expands.
