TOKYO - Injury-plagued yokozuna Onosato opened his campaign Sunday at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament by defeating veteran komusubi Daieisho, while Ukrainian star Aonishiki marked his return to ozeki with a victory over rising talent Kotoeiho.

All three ozeki were winners on the first day of the 15-day meet at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan, with promotion-seeking Kirishima surviving a scare against No. 1 maegashira Kotoshoho, and Kotozakura forcing out No. 2 maegashira Takayasu.
