HOUSTON - Japanese-born kicker Kansei Matsuzawa registered his first point for the Las Vegas Raiders during a 22-20 preseason win against the Houston Texans on Thursday.
The 27-year-old stepped onto the field at Houston's Reliant Stadium after the Raiders' first touchdown of the game in the second half and successfully converted a point-after-touchdown kick.
He missed two further PAT attempts in the fourth quarter, however, sending both kicks wide to the right, but the Raiders nevertheless secured the come-from-behind victory in their second game of preseason.
"I was happy to score my first point, but the two errors that followed were unacceptable, both for me personally and for the team," Matsuzawa said. "I'm frustrated that I failed to do my job. I want to improve."
Matsuzawa signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in April following an impressive college season for the University of Hawaii.
He took up American football after playing soccer in high school for Makuhari Sogo High School in Chiba Prefecture.
The Raiders are set to play their final preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers in a week's time.
