LOS ANGELES - Tomoyuki Sugano earned his 12th win of the season after allowing two runs over six innings as the Colorado Rockies rallied past the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 on Tuesday.
Sugano (12-5) surrendered two solo home runs in the first inning but held Arizona scoreless over the remaining five innings, allowing six hits and striking out five at Chase Field.
Elsewhere, Seiya Suzuki reached the 20-homer mark for the fourth consecutive year as the Chicago Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 8-6.
Suzuki delivered a run-scoring double and belted a solo shot to finish 2-for-5 with two RBIs at Nationals Park.
Cubs starter Shota Imanaga did not factor in the decision after giving up four runs on six hits, including three homers, in 4-2/3 innings.
In other Major League Baseball action, Munetaka Murakami doubled to extend his on-base streak to 26 games in the Chicago White Sox's 5-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds.
