BOSTON - Masataka Yoshida collected two hits and drove in a run as the Boston Red Sox walked off the Chicago White Sox 12-11 in 13 innings on Thursday for their eighth straight win.
Yoshida hit an RBI double to left field in the sixth inning at Fenway Park in the seesaw game that lasted four and a half hours.
The left-handed hitter finished 2-for-4, before being replaced by a pinch runner in the 10th.
"It's huge. It was a big game," Yoshida said. "We never gave up, the fans stayed until the end, and there was a feeling within the team that we could pull it off."
White Sox first baseman Munetaka Murakami went hitless in six at-bats, striking out three times and drawing an intentional walk.
In other Major League Baseball action, Kazuma Okamoto went 1-for-4 at Wrigley Field as the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Chicago Cubs 3-2 on a walk-off in 11 innings.
Cubs slugger Seiya Suzuki went hitless in four at-bats.
Elsewhere, Kodai Senga threw a scoreless seventh inning in relief as the New York Mets routed the Cleveland Guardians 13-6.
