CAIRO - Kozo Okamoto, a Japanese Red Army member who along with two others launched the 1972 attack on Tel Aviv's international airport using assault rifles and hand grenades, has died, a Palestinian group said Thursday. He was 78.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which had provided him with support while he was living in exile in Lebanon, said the Japanese militant died in the suburbs of Beirut.
