NEW YORK - Masataka Yoshida hit his fourth home run while going 3-for-5 as the Boston Red Sox clobbered the Tampa Bay Rays 10-0 in the first game of their doubleheader Friday.
Yoshida pulled a high, first-pitch sinker from Griffin Jax (5-7) leading off the fourth inning and the ball landed just inside the right-field pole at Fenway Park for a 3-0 lead.
Having doubled in the second, Yoshida added another hit with a single in the sixth, scoring in both frames. His team produced a six-run sixth before Carlos Narvaez iced it with a solo shot in the seventh.
Yoshida went hitless with his three trips to the plate in the second game, but the Red Sox won 5-3 to stretch their winning streak to 11 games.
In New York, Roki Sasaki started the Los Angeles Dodgers' first game after the All-Star break and held the Yankees to an unearned run on five hits over 5-2/3 innings but got no decision in his team's 2-1 comeback victory.
Sasaki allowed a double with two outs in the fourth when center fielder Andy Pages' fielding error advanced Jasson Dominguez to third before catcher Dalton Rushing's passed ball yielded the game's first run at Yankee Stadium.
Sasaki allowed two singles in the sixth and got the hook before Max Muncy blasted a two-run shot in the seventh to turn the game around for the Dodgers, for whom Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-4.
"I had a good feeling from the minor adjustment I made to my pitching mechanics. I reviewed the use of my lower body," Sasaki said. "I'm glad to have pitched well at a wonderful stadium."
