AKITA, Japan - A long teaching career in mathematics brought Manabu Sannohe, a 49-year-old teacher born with cerebral palsy affecting his limbs, into contact with more than a thousand students in Japan's Akita Prefecture.
Only in 2024, however, after 25 years in education, did he step into the homeroom role he had long sought.
