TOKYO - U.S. chipmaker Western Digital Corp. has told Toshiba Corp. it may make a major concession by apparently pursuing taking a small portion of a stake in the Japanese conglomerate's chip business instead of exclusively purchasing the unit, sources close to the matter said Saturday.
